about

I can smell the fear and the fear smells like the smog of Los Angeles sprawling haphazardous towards the wetsuit-cold deep like a Hollywood wallet ocean where the pier meets the horizon where you ask yourself “Is there anything else you really need? There’s a burger joint two blocks from here and a grocery store around the corner and the owners don’t speak good english but you get used to it.”

Bring me carmageddon with a side of slow death and give me liberty at four dollars and fifty cents to the gallon. Put me on a bus and make me talk to every latino man with headphones in and every older white man with a ponytail yelling “I fought in a war, motherfucker, and all I got was a bus ticket to Simi Valley and an aluminum pin that reads “God Bless Our Country”.

Endless piercings and ammonia-flavored-ammonia and thirty dollar t-shirts with sportscars jutting up against sedans from before I was born. Upside-down rainbow triangles spray-painted camouflage stuck between the dispensary and record store and church that reads “HELL AWAITS” and the graffiti under it reads “ALREADY HERE” and the aluminum pin reads “God Bless Our Country”
